Vinny Rose Pinto (they/she) is an Italian-American emo jock who lives in the Pacific Northwest with their partner and two lawless cats. They write queer speculative fiction for young people and adults.

Vinny’s short fiction has been published in literary magazines like Voyage YA Journal and Solarpunk Magazine. She won the $20,000 first prize in Vocal Media’s 2021 Doomsday Diary contest, and the $2,000 second place prize in Grist’s 2025 Imagine 2200 contest, judged by Omar El Akkad and Annalee Newitz. Vinny attended the Tin House YA Fiction Workshop in 2021, and was a Diverse Voices mentee with H.E. Edgmon.
